Stuff

Well its been a while since my last post, this is mainly because since rejoining the world of the working I really haven't done much other than work!

Below is a typical schedule of my day since the beginning of May:

0630: Wake up
0700: Leave the flat
0800: Get to work
1800: Leave work
1900: Learn Cantonese (run by the VTC)
2130: Get the Bus home
2200: Get home, shower, eat and sleep.

This is not a whine, I came into this with my eyes wide open and knew it would be hard work, but from reading the above its hardly what I would call "living it up".

One the subject of Cantonese I must say if you are an expat and you feel the need to learn the language of the Hong Kong (IMHO if you are living here why wouldn't you!) then give the VTC a call, I am now on the second course.

"Cing yat m'sai faan gung" so I will be off to watch the dragon boat racing in Stanley, pictures to follow...

Great blog! How do you find the VTC Cantonese courses? Have you learned other languages before & how do their courses stack up? Would I have any problem getting in with an advanced degree? Thanks, and keep up the posts.

I found it via this blog:

http://powmarday.blogspot.com/ and the link to the VTC is:

http://www.vtc.edu.hk/vtc/web/template/link.jsp?fldr_id=2692

You will be able to get on to both the Survival Canto and the Socialising canto course but you won't be eligable for the next level which is "Elementary Canto in the work place Level 1 and 2" but tbh if you don't tell them you have a degree in the first place they are hardly likely to check!
